Background
I was born on October 5th, 1987, in Yokohama, Japan, to Japanese mother and Swedish father. I have a sister who is three years younger.
I grew up in multiple cities: Yokohama, Tokyo, Koriyama, and Stockholm. I was born in Yokohama, and grew up speaking Japanese in Tokyo and Koriyama. When I was 9 years old I moved to Stockholm, Sweden, together with my family due to my father's job relocation. I entered Royal Ballet School in Stockholm, training everyday to become a professional dancer. When I was 14 however, our family moved back to Japan again. This time I entered Yokohama International School, where I learned to speak English and daily interacted with classmates from all over the world.
I moved to Montreal on my own to attend McGill University in 2007, and this is my fourth year here. After graduating I hope to work as a classroom teacher at an international school overseas.
Three countries, three languages, and many wonderful friends around the world along the way... the journey does not stop here!

Interests, Activities, and Plans
For the past 6 years, I have worked as a pre-translator of children's books (Swedish and English into Japanese) and book reporter (Swedish Young Adult Literature reports) for a publishing company in Japan.
I also work as an English tutor for a Bilingual Tutor company in Japan, teaching English to children of age 4-18.
When I am not in school or working, I like cooking, traveling, painting, Yoga and reading.
I also love spending time with my friends and family.
Upon completion of my degree at McGill, I would like to be a classroom teacher and work overseas. I hope to start my career in Japan, as I missed home while doing my studies here, but eventually I would like to explore other countries.
